Mooney 231

N231LR - 1979 Mooney 231 - M20K

231LR was found in the dry dusty West Texas town of Hereford. She was owned by the same owner since 1984. We purchased her in April of 2012. We then ferried her to the closest Mooney Service Center,  Lubbock Aviation, for a very lengthy and intense annual that lasted a month. Since then, 231LR has flown regularly and has a long history of maintenance by several Mooney Service Centers. This is a totally turn key airplane in every way.

The 2021 annual is already scheduled with Don Maxwell Aviation on August 1, 2021. We will hold that appointment for the new owner if desired.

The Paint: With the exception of the cowling and prop, this is an ORIGINAL PAINT JOB from 1979. The exterior paint is in good to very good condition. There are some areas where it is thin. And there are a few spots of sun damage. However, as you can see, she glistens when properly detailed and cared for.

The Interior: is 90 percent new. The only exception is the carpet and seatbelts. We could not find new carpet that has the original orange speckles, so we pulled it and deep cleaned it. It still looks great. The seats were recovered in 2017. The walls were pulled and repaired and repainted at that time as well. 

The Engine: The Continental TSIO-360-LB was overhauled in September 2014. All accessories were overhauled. A new fuel system was installed at that point as well. SMOH: 197.43

Oil Change Schedule is every 6 months or 40 hours. Which ever comes first. We use Aeroshell 100 Plus. We add Camguard at every oil change as well

Remarks: 

In 2017 a complete renovation of the interior was completed by Hoover Interiors in New Port Richey, Florida.
